Our Surgeon

Dr. Irene B Houari completed general surgery residency at Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ in June 2010.  She remained on staff as an attending general surgeon, partnering with the chairman of the department. She attained certification with the American Board of Surgery in November 2010.  She was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2016.

She moved to Southern California in 2011 and began employment with St. Mary’s Specialty Group, which later joined with High Desert Medical Group to form St. Mary’s High Desert Medical Group. She has now been in private practice In both the High Desert and Upland since 2016.

Dr. Irene B Houari has worked in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, seeing patients in consultation, performing a variety of surgeries, and providing excellent perioperative care.  She has continued her medical education and surgical training, becoming certified to perform DaVinci Robotic surgical procedures.

Dr. Irene B Houari has taken on many administrative and professional responsibilities at St. Mary’s Medical Center, serving on multiple committees, including Peer Review Committee, Perioperative Committee, Tissue & Transfusion Committee, Critical Care Committee, and Cancer Committee.  She is also the current elected Vice Chairperson on the Surgery Department.

Dr. Irene B. Houari is well-respected by her colleagues and has formed an extensive referral network.  She is also highly regarded by her patients and has attained perfect scores on various health provider rating sites.
